FGHA Vaccination Policy

Sep. 03, 2021

The Flamborough Girls Hockey Association recognizes the significant impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on sports and recreation. We understand how important hockey is to our members and are committed to doing what is necessary to keep our game as safe as possible for the 2021-22 season.

On September 1st, the Government of Ontario announced its decision to require proof of full vaccinations (two doses plus 14 day waiting period) for access to select indoor facilities, beginning on September 22nd.  In keeping with the most recent announcements and recommendations for amateur sports leagues and direction from the Ontario Women's Hockey Association, the FGHA will (subject to any additional developments in this area) require proof of COVID-19 immunization for all vaccine eligible participants (12 years of age and above and unless exempted) including players, coaches, officials, staff and volunteers as a condition of pariticpation in the FGHA.  Those participants who were born before 2010 will need to be fully vaccinated as soon as possible and by no later than October 17, 2021.

Further details regarding implementation of this Policy, exemption qualifications, providing poof of vaccination, etc. will be available in the near future.
