Quick Notes for Families

  • Water bottles: Please bring a clearly labelled water bottle each week; for health reasons, no sharing.

  • Helmet name label: Add your child’s name on white hockey tape on their helmet to help coaches learn names.

  • Required equipment: Full gear, including helmet with cage/visor, mouth guard, and jill.

  • Dressing room policy: For privacy and safety, no males (of any age) in the dressing rooms. Please assist outside or arrive partially dressed.

On-Ice Help & Volunteering

We welcome parent involvement! Moms and dads interested in helping on-ice must complete a Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. Use the FGHA VSS Letter to receive the discounted rate.

Why start at U7?

Getting involved at U7 not only gives parents early hands-on experience and confidence as coaches, trainers, or managers, but also creates a lasting pathway to support our players. As your child progresses through the age groups, we’re always on the lookout for volunteer coaches, and starting early is a great way to build your skills and confidence. Your time and involvement help your child grow, thrive, and stay connected throughout every stage of their hockey journey.

If you’re interested, please contact our House League Directors. Depending on numbers, a rotational schedule may be set up.

House League Directors — Contact

While fathers often step up first, we strongly encourage moms to take active roles as on-ice helpers, trainers, and coaches — after all, FGHA stands for Flamborough Girls Hockey Association!
